Masaki Amamiya is Sakura Kinomoto's great-grandfather through her mother's side of the family. He wasn't thrilled about Nadeshiko marrying Fujitaka Kinomoto at first, but his resistance softened once he actually met Sakura. A gift from the girl herself seemed to do the trick in smoothing things over between them.
