A 2nd year student at Fumizuki Gakuen and Akihisa's friend since their first year together.
Hideyoshi stands out in Class F as one of the few genuinely well-adjusted people, which honestly just makes him a target for the others. According to his grandfather, he's blessed with almost supernatural beauty―so much so that people constantly mistake him for a girl. But he's definitely male, even if almost nobody treats him that way. He was nominated for the Journalism club's list of "Guys Who'd Look Good in Girls' Clothes," but got disqualified for being "unfair competition." Girls regularly forget his actual gender, and Akihisa's the only one who consistently remembers (though even that slips sometimes). During school trips, he gets his own private dressing room and bathroom just to keep things from getting weird. There's a running joke that he's actually a third gender altogether―one the school has literally named "Hideyoshi." Like Akihisa's photos, candid pictures of him get traded around, except his go for five times the price. He claims to be bothered by not being recognized as a guy, but his behavior says otherwise―he blushes when Akihisa treats him like a girl, gets genuinely happy being called someone's foolish friend, and throws tackles that are suspiciously off-target. So yeah, he's not exactly normal either.
He's in the Drama club and genuinely talented at voice mimicry, both male and female. He's reluctant to perform, but once he commits to a role, he nails it thanks to his borderline obsessive approach to drama. That obsession is part of why he ended up in Class F―his grades tanked, especially in Classical Literature.
Despite his delicate appearance, he's got an iron stomach that can supposedly handle a potato seed. Even that has its limits though: Mizuki's cooking might actually be stronger.
His name comes from the historical figure Toyotomi Hideyoshi, also known as Kinoshita Toukichirou.
In the Summoned Beast system, he summons with blue pants and a naginata. His occult version is a nekomata―a ghost cat girl, which says a lot about where his priorities actually are.
He ranked 1st among male characters and 10th among female characters in the 2009 "Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi!" rankings, landing 2nd overall across all characters.
