Dr. Paradigm is a Gear living in the Ganymede archipelago, a Gear colony isolated from humans. He's basically a small green dragon with avian traits—large pointed ears that give him an almost goblin-like look, white plumage covering his belly, and talons instead of feet. He's almost always perched on his lectern, dressed impeccably in an academic cap and vest with spiral glasses; papers tied to his antennae complete the professorial aesthetic.
Despite being a Gear, he's obsessively studious and absorbs information across disciplines with remarkable flexibility. He's deeply rational and understands the world through his own peculiar logic. That said, he's stubborn as they come once he's made up his mind—especially about humans. He doesn't actively dislike them, but he genuinely thinks little of humanity and wouldn't shed tears if they disappeared.
After the Crusades left independent-type Gears without a home, Dr. Paradigm stepped up to lead them. He has extensive knowledge of The Backyard and operates its search program, making him genuinely indispensable. He's proud to a fault and terrible at socializing, though weirdly he and Izuna get along just fine. He needs water to function properly.
