Conis is the first person the Straw Hats encounter when they arrive in Skypiea, and she quickly becomes central to the arc. She's genuinely friendly and helpful at first, greeting them warmly—but things get complicated when it's revealed the crew never paid Skypiea's brutal entry toll. Under Enel's iron-fisted rule, Conis is forced to report them as trespassers, a choice that clearly torments her. While leading Luffy, Sanji, and Usopp to Upper Yard, the guilt overwhelms her and she confesses everything. When Enel retaliates with a lightning strike aimed directly at her, Luffy jumps in front of it, and both barely survive thanks to Gan Fall's intervention.
She spends the rest of the arc making up for that moment of coercion—guiding the Merry Go safely through Upper Yard, warning her people about Enel's true nature, and helping the crew escape back down to the surface after they defeat him.
Character-wise, Conis is headstrong, genuinely caring, and surprisingly courageous. She comes across as innocent and optimistic early on, but as the arc progresses, she's willing to defy her god publicly to do what's right. Beyond that, she's an accomplished harpist and skilled with a Waver. She carries a Burn Bazooka and knows her way around various dials, though she never actually fights in combat.
Some fans speculated she might join as the crew's musician because of her musical talents, but Conis ultimately chose to stay in Skypiea.
