The Seventh Generation Yakumo Yuurakutei took Bon and Shin under his wing as kids and basically raised them both. When they hit their teenage years, he and Shin split off for a while to perform in Manchuria—mostly entertaining troops stationed there. That's where he ended up meeting Miyokichi, someone he'd eventually introduce to his other students down the line.
