Morrison is a Pokémon Trainer known for his traditional Japanese-style clothing and his genuinely spirited, competitive personality. He first showed up in "Less is Morrison" and stuck around to enter the Ever Grande Conference, where he and Ash quickly became friends—though they were just as quick to declare themselves rivals for the tournament.
He's the type who challenges people to basically everything, whether it's Pokémon battles or eating contests. Like Ash, he's stubborn and refuses to quit, even when things look bad. That said, Morrison's got a softer side. When he and Ash finally faced off in the Ever Grande Conference semifinals in "Choose it or Lose It!", he was genuinely torn up about it. He actually refused to battle at first and let two of his Pokémon go down before he could get his head in the game. It wasn't until Ash told him he wouldn't hold it against him and wanted to see Morrison give his all that he finally stepped up. The match came down to a one-on-one finish, but in the end Ash took the win.
