Carla is a talking Exceed cat—basically the female counterpart to Happy. She's best known for being Wendy's closest companion and guardian, having been raised by her since Wendy found her as an egg. The two are inseparable, and Carla takes protecting Wendy seriously, sometimes to the point of being overprotective.
She's got a no-nonsense personality and doesn't have much patience for goofing around. That strict demeanor made her pretty dismissive of Happy when they first met, but she gradually warmed up to him over time. The Edolas arc especially marked a turning point in their dynamic, with her ice finally starting to thaw.
What sets Carla apart from other Exceeds is her precognition ability on top of her Aera magic, giving her an edge in sensing danger before it strikes—which only reinforces her protective instincts toward Wendy.
