Jun is Tao Ren's older sister and a Daoist priest trained in corpse reanimation. Her guardian zombie is Lee Bailong, a legendary kung-fu movie star who bears a striking resemblance to Bruce Lee and died about seventeen years before the series begins.
Initially, Jun controlled Bailong through Jufu talismans, treating him like a tool. That changed after she fought Yoh Asakura and his spirit Amidamaru—she lost, but more importantly, the loss made her realize that spirits aren't puppets. They have feelings and wills of their own. From that point on, Jun stopped forcing Bailong to obey and instead lets him choose whether to follow her commands.
The anime adaptations differ on her family background. In the manga and original anime, her parents are Tao Yúan (also called Tao En) and Ran. The English dub took a different route, making her father deceased and turning En into her uncle instead. The English version also gives both Jun and Ren British accents.
