Shin Hayata is the legendary SSSP hero—now in his sixties—and father to the protagonist. He's best known for being the original Ultraman, the man who first took on that mantle to protect Earth. His son is essentially trying to live up to his legacy and fill those enormous shoes. At this point in his life, Shin's age is starting to show. He's still out there fighting, still going by the Ultraman name, but it's becoming harder to keep up the way he used to.
