Asa starts out as a withdrawn, antisocial kid who actively dislikes her classmates—she'd honestly rather they disappear than deal with them. Making friends holds zero appeal; studying is where she'd rather spend her time. Her coldness toward everyone stems partly from trauma: her parents were killed by a Devil, which left her with a deep-seated hatred for all Devils.
Over time, though, she has a genuine realization. That aloofness masks something simpler—jealousy. She actually wants what her peers have: connection, belonging, maybe even romance. She starts wanting to live for herself more, to pursue the things she actually desires instead of just pushing everyone away. Friends matter to her now. A boyfriend matters. It's less about becoming a different person and more about finally admitting what she's always wanted.
