Dr. Root is a mad scientist and duelist who serves as Boy George's boss. He's best known for his eccentric teaching methods, which always seem to hide some deeper lesson for Shobu and his friends. His real name is Leroy.
Beyond his work as a mentor, Dr. Root has quite the collection of alter egos and creations. He's responsible for Mr. Perfect, a human-like robot, and he can pilot a giant robot. He's also a skilled duelist in his own right.
In Duel Masters Zero, Root takes on a more direct role, personally training Shobu and the group. He ran a Survivor deck in season 1, though his go-to strategy involves a Darkness/Water hybrid deck not unlike the one Boy George uses.
