Honoka's had a thing for Yamato since they were kids—they met at her family's shrine, which he'd visit whenever he stayed with his aunt. She was too shy to ever actually talk to him back then. Then out of nowhere, Yamato ended up at her high school in the same class, and she finally saw her chance. She worked up the courage to approach him, and they became friends. When he joined the track team, she decided to become the manager so they could stay close.
