Anna's a foster kid growing up in Sapporo who deals with asthma. When it started affecting her pretty badly, her doctor basically told her she needed to get out of the city for a while—somewhere with better air. So one summer she ends up in this small coastal town, and that's where she meets Marnie and they become close friends.
