A powerfully built martial artist who left the countryside for Tokyo in search of worthy opponents. His signature move is the "back attack"—he literally drives his back into enemies with devastating force, usually sending them flying. Gantz nicknames him "Countryside General," later upgrading him to "Muscle Rider," which stuck.
He's best known for his gruff exterior masking genuine care for Takeshi, a young kid who idolizes him as his savior. Despite his cold demeanor, fans note he showed real emotion thinking about Takeshi dying so young without ever knowing love. On Kurono's request, he spent his points to revive Nishi.
He chose to stay in the Gantz game for two reasons: to keep testing himself against stronger enemies and to look after Takeshi. That protective instinct proved fatal—he died during the Shinjuku massacre at Izumi's hands.
