Cherry
A psychic who awakens to his powers after a suicide attempt, guided by Sakata into unlocking his latent abilities. Sakata pushes him toward revenge—using his newfound powers to kill the people who sexually abused him—but he's haunted by guilt afterward. When he and Sakata stumble onto Izumi's Shinjuku massacre, he convinces Sakata that stopping it could be their shot at redemption. They fight hard but ultimately lose; both are killed and sent to Gantz.
He picks up his abilities incredibly fast. During a mission against the Flame Oni, he dies but gets revived by Sakata. Gantz gives him the handle "Cherry," derived from the Japanese name Sakura—also his online username. After the murders he committed, he meets his girlfriend Tonkotsu, and together they hunt down other killers using his psychic powers as a way to keep atoning. Following the Osaka mission, Gantz officially strips him of the "Cherry" title, marking a significant personal milestone.
