Appearance:
Paulie's got a pretty distinctive look—blond hair slicked back with orange goggles perched on top, usually wearing a flame-detailed denim jacket with a cigar barely leaving his mouth. He defaults to a frown. After Enies Lobby, he switched things up with a black jacket decorated with roses and chains, but the cigar and attitude stayed the same.
Personality:
He's Iceburg's right hand and one of his most trusted guys. What really sets Paulie apart is his prudish streak when it comes to how female characters dress. While someone like Sanji would be all over it, Paulie genuinely gets outraged at how much skin Nami and Kalifa show, especially around men—a running gag that makes him stick out from most of the cast.
When the Straw Hats first meet him, Paulie tries to rob Luffy of two suitcases to cover his gambling debts. Lucci stops him, but Paulie's bold enough to ask for a 10% cut anyway. It's a pretty solid introduction to his character.
Fighting Style:
Paulie fights with ropes—tons of them, cascading out from under his sleeves in wild, snake-like patterns that wrap around enemies. The amount he carries is honestly ridiculous, stretching hundreds or thousands of meters. During Enies Lobby, he proved just how absurd his rope capacity is by single-handedly rigging up a massive, intricate net that caught not just himself and the entire Franky Family, but also two giants and their bull, all hanging over a massive pit. He constantly brags that Galley-La rope never breaks, no matter what.
History:
Paulie was inspired to become a shipwright after attending the launch of the Puffing Tom as a kid. He eventually joined Galley-La and worked his way up to become one of their top foremen. When the Straw Hats reach Water 7, he's one of five foremen running Dock 1, specializing in masts and rigging.
