Maruge—whose name literally means "hairball"—is a shaggy youkai who shows up here and there throughout GeGeGe no Kitarō. He's best known for his first appearance in the Shonen Magazine serialization, specifically the "Geta Battle" chapter, where he made a solid impression on readers despite not becoming a major recurring character.
True to his name, Maruge's whole thing is being covered in hair. He's one of those youkai that gets called back occasionally when the story needs a particular type of character, but he's never quite made it to the main roster. Fans who've followed the franchise from the beginning tend to remember him fondly, though casual viewers probably won't spot him unless they're deep in the manga.
