Asselin is basically a chef with a serious theatrical streak—he's all about calling himself a "Servant of the noble devil king Satan" and making wild claims about being from hell or having family in Transylvania. None of it's real, but he commits to the bit hard. He's won plenty of culinary awards, which he'll definitely remind you about, but his whole demonic persona eventually got him fired because customers found him genuinely unsettling and his coworkers were sick of the act. That's when Kamiya found him in the rain after the firing and brought him to work at his cafe, where presumably his devil-king routine found a better fit.
