Hatsumi Usuzumi is a third-year at Eisui Girls' High School in Kagoshima Prefecture and a supporting character in Saki. She's part of the shrine maiden contingent there—specifically from a branch family based on Akusekijima, a volcanic island in the Ryukyu Islands.
Her biggest moment comes during the qualifying rounds, where she clinches the prefectural title for Eisui with a direct yakuman, securing their spot in nationals. Impressively, the team never even needed to field captain Kasumi Iwato for the final segment.
Hatsumi's probably most recognizable for the ceremonial Boze mask she wears before and after her matches—part of her duties as an Akuseki shrine maiden. Fans have noted she can actually breathe flames from the thing, which is pretty wild.
