Ritsu is a 25-year-old literary editor with a pretty cynical outlook on romance. He's the only son of Onodera Publication's head, and he used to work in the literature department there—which meant his coworkers constantly accused him of coasting on his family name. Tired of the favoritism talk, he made a point to prove himself by jumping ship to Marukawa Publishing instead.
The real reason he's so guarded about relationships goes back to high school. At 15, he fell hard for someone who ended up breaking his heart pretty badly. He basically decided right then that love wasn't worth the trouble and swore it off completely. That resolution held up fine until he ended up working under his new boss at Marukawa—who turns out to be that exact same guy from his past, except now he's an actual adult and Ritsu's superior. So much for sticking to his guns.
On the side, Ritsu's also known for editing Usami Akihiko's work during his time at his old company.
