Gunjou Rein (Ultramarine Rain)
A half-human, half-Medusa character who debuted in Imagination Forest as Mary's mother. She raised Mary sheltered in the forest, convinced that humans would reject her daughter because of her mixed heritage. When Mary inevitably sneaks out to explore the world, she's attacked—and her mother uses her Medusa powers to turn the attacker to stone in order to save her. The effort costs her everything; the strain kills her.
The character also appears in Heat Haze.
