Nel Tu is probably best known for being the childlike arrancar who tags along with Ichigo for much of the series. She's got this goofy skull fragment sitting on top of her head—what's left of her hollow mask—and a personality to match: innocent, clingy, and way too trusting for someone living in the desert of Hueco Mundo. Her and her crew actually think Soul Reapers are the real monsters, not hollows, which is why she's terrified of them at first. That fear doesn't last long though, because she immediately becomes attached to Ichigo and basically won't leave him alone after they meet.
She's known for constantly mangling his name, turning "Ichigo" into "Itsygo" because of her lisp—fans often note how annoying it gets. There's also the running gag that she's self-proclaimed masochist, which mostly just means she's willing to get beaten up if it means sticking around with Ichigo. It's part of her whole innocent but oddly dense personality that makes her endearing despite being kind of a pest.
