Tsumugi
A human-Gauna hybrid engineered by Kunato Developments as a weapon against the Gauna threat. She's built along the same lines as a Guardian—roughly similar in size and appearance—but with distinctly Gauna characteristics. In combat, she's genuinely one of the best fighters around, matched only by Nagate.
Despite her origins as a weapon, Tsumugi becomes genuinely close with Nagate and Izana. She hangs out with them at their place regularly, though she does it in an unconventional way: her main body stays docked at the hangar while she sends a tentacle through the vents to spend time with them. It's a weirdly charming detail that highlights just how much she values those friendships.
The twist comes later when it's revealed that Tsumugi was actually created from a Gauna sample combined with Hoshijiro's DNA—meaning she's technically built from one of their fallen comrades. That revelation adds serious weight to her character and her relationships with the crew.
