Akesato
A geisha working in Shimabara, Akesato is known for her beauty and her genuine feelings for Yamanami. What most don't know is that she's actually a spy for Chōshū, working undercover alongside two other female ninjas.
Her involvement with the Chōshū faction isn't random—the Bakufu killed her family, and Akesato has been secretly working for them (specifically under Yoshida) ever since, presumably driven by a desire for revenge. It's a motivation fans will recognize as pretty typical for this series.
