Take is a Carp Fishman who serves in the Arlong Pirates as the commanding officer of their social gatherings—basically he's in charge of keeping morale up. He's got a forehead tattoo of the kanji for "love" (愛), which is a pretty clever play on words since "koi" means both "love" and "carp" in Japanese. There's also an arrow tattooed on his chest styled like the kind you'd see on a love-heart symbol, keeping with the whole love theme.
