Exsedol Folmo is a Zentradi character from the Macross franchise, best known for serving as an advisor to fleet commander Britai Kridanik during the original series.
Voice actors: Ryūsuke Ōbayashi (original 1982 Japanese series), Andy McAvin (2006 ADV Films dub)
Exsedol's defining trait is his memory—he's essentially a living database for the entire 500,000-year history of Zentradi combat, with a recall capacity that outpaces any computer ever built. As a Zem First Class Archivist, he was constantly at Britai's side during Space War I, offering strategic counsel. When humanity first made contact, Exsedol actually recommended leaving the miclones alone, citing ancient Zentradi doctrine, but his superiors ignored the advice.
Once the Britai fleet switched sides, Exsedol was micloned and sent to the Macross as a peace envoy. After the war, he stayed on as an advisor to the newly reformed UN Spacy. At some point he reverted to his original size, and his body underwent significant modifications to safeguard all the knowledge stored in his mind—which is why he looks noticeably different in later Macross shows.
Exsedol's design has echoed through the franchise: a similar-looking unnamed Zentradi advisor showed up in Macross Frontier's episodes 12-13, and a human-Zentradi hybrid named Folmo appeared in Frontier episode 5.
