Bake-Bi, whose name literally means "Monster Flame," is a fire youkai that shares similarities with Tsurube-Bi.
The character's design has changed significantly across adaptations. In the 1985 anime, Bake-Bi appears as a large floating ball of yellow flames hovering several feet above the ground. Inside the flames are three skulls arranged in depth—the front one positioned lowest, with the second skull behind and to the upper right, and the third at the very back and upper left.
The 2018 anime redesign gave Bake-Bi three round orange heads stacked one behind another, each with round yellow eyes and small noses but no mouths. The flames surrounding them shifted to a magenta color, a notable departure from the original yellow.
