Dr. Sarah Rockbell was a surgeon who worked alongside her husband Yuriy in the Kanda region of Ishval during the civil war, treating casualties from both sides. She's the mother of Winry Rockbell and, eventually, the mother-in-law of Edward Elric. Despite being Amestrian themselves, the couple earned respect from medical professionals like Doctors Marcoh and Knox for their humanitarian work—many Ishvalan lives were saved because of them. Unfortunately, Amestrian military brass saw their efforts differently and wanted them eliminated. Sarah was married into the Rockbell family, becoming the daughter-in-law of Pinako Rockbell, and later had unnamed children with Edward.
