Mary
Mary's a young engineer who runs an underground repair operation in the Kyusei Pit, the immigrant district controlled by the mafia—basically one of the few corners of the city where Berühren Corp doesn't have its hands on everything. She specializes in maintaining Extends, doing the kind of back-alley work that keeps the district's modified people functional.
She's tight with Juuzo, and when he got cut off from his usual cigarettes, she stepped up and started providing him medicated ones instead. It's the kind of practical loyalty that defines their friendship—she doesn't make a big deal out of it, just handles it.
The reason she got into mechanics in the first place is personal. Her brother Victor was a mechanic too, and he disappeared during the war. She's been trying to track him down ever since, hoping that understanding the work he did might help her find him, or at least understand what happened to him.
