Takuto Maruki is a major supporting character in Persona 5 Royal, brought in as a school counselor after Suguru Kamoshida's abuse comes to light. Unlike the other staff at Shujin Academy, he's genuinely invested in helping students work through their problems—and it shows.
Physically, he's a tall guy with messy brown hair, glasses, and light stubble. His work look is pretty standard: blue dress shirt, khaki pants, dark checkered tie, white lab coat over everything, and inexplicably, sandals with no socks. He keeps a yellow pen and an ID badge clipped to his chest pocket. Away from school, he dresses a bit more casually in a light brown jacket, sweater, jeans, and laced shoes. Back when he was younger, he had neater hair, a cleaner-shaven face, and wore simpler outfits like a polo shirt and watch.
What makes Maruki stand out is his genuine warmth. He's patient with students, actually listens, and has this uncanny ability to pick up on the little things people say that help them open up. He's also kind of a disaster in the most endearing way—clumsy, quirky, always getting into funny situations. According to Shibusawa, he tends to jump into things without thinking, but that impulsiveness comes from a good place. The Phantom Thieves respect him deeply, and he's so well-liked that even students from other schools seek him out. He's apparently a pretty solid cook too, which somehow feels fitting.
