Namie Portman is a Senior Private and the newest recruit in the Arandas Army's 8th Autonomous Unit. She's an inexperienced Trail Krieger pilot, though she's proven herself capable as a test pilot—good enough that her performance data was actually used to help design the Seiran. That said, her lack of real combat experience is a noticeable weakness.
She knew Tokimune back during their mobile weapons training, where she was his underclassman, and the two get along pretty well. Fans often note that she's rarely seen without a lollipop on hand, and she's pretty generous about offering them around to her squad mates.
