Kirin is the only child and first daughter of the Toudou family's main line, which means she's been trained intensively in their signature fighting style since childhood. Her childhood took a dark turn when she was taken hostage during a robbery—her father killed the attacker to protect her, but ended up imprisoned as a result. After that, her uncle Toudou Kouichiro took her in and got her enrolled at Seidoukan Academy.
Her reason for being at the academy is pretty straightforward: she's determined to get her father released from prison. Everything she does there is working toward that goal.
