Wen Qing was the older sister of Wen Ning and one of the Wen clan's most skilled physicians—arguably the best they ever had. She came from a branch family rather than the main line, tracing her ancestry back to clan founder Wen Mao. Beyond her medical expertise, she was also a fairly accomplished cultivator in her own right.
