Misa is Yusa's older sister—just a year ahead—who died in a motorcycle accident and now exists as a ghost, essentially bound to Yusa's side. The two couldn't be more different. Where Yusa is trusting and open, Misa's got a sharp tongue, struggles to trust others, and has a mischievous streak. But underneath all that, she genuinely cares deeply about her sister, which is partly why she sticks around as a protective presence.
Since Yusa has the ability to let others possess her body, Misa takes advantage of that when she needs to act in the physical world—usually to keep Yusa out of trouble. When she inhabits her sister's body, she can also tap into Yusa's pyrokinetic powers, giving her the ability to control fire. She uses this mainly as another tool for protection.
Before she died, Misa had a small circle of friends, including someone nicknamed Sho who was in love with her. These days, she remains her sister's constant companion and guardian, stepping in to help whenever Yusa finds herself in danger.
