One of the Donquixote Family's senior members, Monet grew up believing she was worthless after her mother abandoned her as a kid. That rejection fundamentally messed with her head—she became obsessed with being useful to others, unable to refuse anyone who asked anything of her. She'd say yes to basically everything, which made her an easy target. She got proposed to seven times by guys who were clearly just using her, and she accepted every single one without hesitation. Doflamingo eventually killed all of them, though whether that was protective or just him dealing with people he saw as obstacles isn't entirely clear.
