Gonsuke (Gaozook in the English dub) is a robot best known for planting and harvesting sweet potatoes. He originally appeared in Fujiko F. Fujio's manga 21-emon and Ume Boshi Denka, but has shown up in various Doraemon special episodes where he takes on different roles—everything from cop to mechanic.
His appearances vary wildly depending on the version. In the 2002 movie, he's basically solo, digging a single hole in the Open Lot and asking Doraemon for help. The manga version is messier: he and a crew of Mole Robots tear up the lot with multiple holes and actually manage to drive Doraemon away using police robots. By the 2005 anime, he'd become a full-sized robot, and fans have noted that his head design is swappable—you can even attach a Transformer head to him.
