Masako Araki is the head coach of Yōsen High's basketball program.
Before taking on her coaching role, Araki was a standout player herself. She competed at a high level in youth basketball and earned a spot on Japan's national women's team. During that time, she crossed paths with several players from the men's national team—Kagetora, Takeuchi, Nakatani, Harasawa, and Shirogane—and the connections she made then have stuck with her.
