Teikou Middle School's basketball team produced the legendary "Generation of Miracles"—five insanely talented players who each had their own signature moves and were basically unbeatable by the time they graduated. But their egos got the best of them, and they ended up going to different high schools instead of sticking together. Taiga Kagami returns from America and joins Seirin High School's basketball team, looking for worthy rivals. That's where he meets Tetsuya Kuroko, who seems like just another average player until Kagami learns the truth: Kuroko was the sixth member of the Generation of Miracles. He was basically invisible on the court but had incredible passing abilities that made everyone else look good. Kagami and Kuroko team up with the goal of taking down each of the Miracles and turning Seirin into Japan's top basketball team.
