An unnamed woman from Tousen's past who befriended him before he joined the Soul Reapers. Though Tousen had feelings for her, she ended up marrying another Soul Reaper instead. Years later, her husband murdered her after she spoke out against him for killing a fellow Soul Reaper over something trivial. Her death became the turning point that drove Tousen to become a Soul Reaper himself—he wanted to achieve the peaceful Soul Society she'd dreamed of. Fans never learn her name or see her face in either the anime or manga, which adds to the tragedy of her character. She exists mainly as motivation for Tousen's entire arc.
