Basho is one of Neon Nostrade's bodyguards, brought on alongside Kurapika. He initially didn't think much of Kurapika, but after seeing what the Dowsing Chain could do, he gained genuine respect for him. His Nen ability, "Great Haiku: The Wandering Haiku Poet," works by having him write a haiku that describes some condition—and then that condition actually manifests into reality.
