Hana Asakura is the protagonist of Hiroyuki Takei's manga Shaman King: Flowers, where he appears as a teenager continuing his father Yoh's legacy as a shaman. He's best known for wielding Amidamaru, the same spirit that made Yoh famous, and for his encounters with the current Shaman King Hao—who cryptically hints that something significant is about to unfold in Hana's life before vanishing. Shortly after, a girl who bears a striking resemblance to Hana's mother Anna shows up, claiming to be Anna's disciple and daughter of Silva. She declares she'll marry Hana if he can defeat her in combat.
Hana is the son of Yoh Asakura and Anna Kyoyama. His name combines characters from both parents—the "Ha" from Yoh's name and "Na" from Anna's—and literally means "flower." The exact timing of his conception remains a bit of a mystery, though it almost certainly happened around the time of or just before the Shaman Fight. Before his life as a teen shaman, Hana was a six-year-old featured in the special chapter Funbari no Uta, set in 2007, where he stayed under the care of Tamao Tamamura while his parents were away. Tamao acted as his guardian and adoptive mother figure, though she kept his true parentage secret until they could return home. He's shown searching for someone alongside Ryu and even wielding the Futsunomitama—suggesting he inherited his father's ability to perform Giant Over Souls. By the KanZenBan manga's final chapters, Hana knows who his real parents are and gives Yoh a memorable welcome-back kick to the stomach.
