Okuyasu isn't the sharpest guy around—he's always leaned on his older brother Keicho to handle the tough calls. After Keicho dies, he becomes obsessed with tracking down Akira Otoishi, the Stand user behind Red Hot Chili Pepper, for revenge. Everything spirals from there into the whole Yoshikage Kira mess, which is where he and Josuke actually bond and become legit friends. Koichi joins their crew too, though Okuyasu definitely gets a little jealous watching Koichi and Yukako get closer. He's also weirdly into Tonio's cooking.
He ends up befriending Shigekiyo after he and Josuke have to fight the guy's Stand, Harvest. The friendship sticks.
His dad is. a lot. When Okuyasu was seven, Dio's spores mutated him into something genuinely bizarre and hard to look at. Okuyasu's not a fan of Rohan either—mostly because Rohan tried some creepy stuff on him the first time they met, which understandably put him off.
