She and Karen go way back—they're childhood friends. Hikari's a natural performer who trained at an acting school in England, which gives her a pretty solid foundation. The two of them share a deeper connection than most friendships, though. They both watched a performance of "Starlight" as kids, and it left an impression on both of them that would shape everything that came after.
When Hikari reunites with Karen at Seisho, she's driven by this pull toward the mysterious Revue that's been calling to both of them. Their fates have been intertwined ever since that performance, really—it's not just coincidence that they ended up at the same school.
