Aureolus
Aureolus is an alchemist with the rare ability known as Ars Magna, which lets him literally manifest his thoughts into reality. He's best known for his obsession with Index and the increasingly unhinged lengths he went to in trying to "save" her.
The two were once partners, but Aureolus became dangerously fixated on her. His plan to turn her into a vampire was supposed to be the solution to some threat he believed she faced—he even forced Deep Blood to help him carry it out. Thing is, Index didn't actually need saving; Touma had already handled whatever the problem was. That didn't stop Aureolus from losing it completely when his plan fell apart, proving his whole crusade was more about his own obsession than any genuine concern for her welfare.
