Shigeo's a teenager who got caught up in some weird supernatural stuff. He was offered a parakeet that supposedly had someone named Yūichi Shibata's soul trapped inside it, but he wasn't having it—the thing was cursed. Chad's saved him more than once, including from a falling steel beam and during a surprise Hollow attack. He usually hangs around with Chad and his friend Harutoki, and apparently he's pretty dramatic about food—he swears he'll literally die if he doesn't eat. He carries a guitar case everywhere, which suggests he's probably a musician of some kind.
