Leol is a lion-type Chimera Ant with a distinctly anthropomorphic build. Before the Queen's death, he went by the name Hagya and served as one of her squadron leaders—though he earned a reputation for being particularly unreliable and disloyal to her command.
Unlike many Chimera Ants who retain human memories from their human parents, Leol's past life memories come from a lion rather than a person. This bestial background shapes a lot of his personality and instincts throughout the series.
