Shizukuishi Ai is a second-year middle school student who struggles to express herself in everyday life. She's found an outlet through cross-dressing as an odorite—a dancer—on the popular video site Smile Douga, where she posts under the alias "Ai." Dancing lets her communicate what words can't, and she's got her childhood friend Ki-chan supporting her through it all. Her big ambition is to eventually beat Hayate, the dancing prince, establishing herself as a serious contender in the community.
