Kanata's one of those quiet kids who's actually kind of strange once you pay attention. He's known as one of the "Three Oddballs" at school—partly because he'll randomly install massive fish tanks and weird contraptions around campus for the Marine Bio Club without much explanation. Teachers keep their eye on him.
Most of the time he's pretty laid-back, but mention marine life and he completely loses it. Fans often note his obsession with dousing everything in soy sauce, which is. a whole thing. Despite not being able to swim, he's weirdly devoted to water—loves soaking in it, loves staring at the ocean. He'll sometimes hang out with Midori Takamine from RYUSEITAI just to watch the sea.
He goes by RYUSEI Blue in the unit.
