Wakana's pretty tall for fifteen—at least 180 centimeters, though he was cut off before finishing when Marin asked, so he might be even taller than that. He's got short black hair, gray eyes, and a small mole at the corner of his right eye.
You'll almost always see him in a samue outside of school—that traditional work outfit with a blue jacket and pants over a plain white shirt. He rounds it out with wooden sandals and usually has a white headband tied up, though he tends to drape it over his shoulders when he's not actively working.
At the start of the series, Wakana's pretty much a loner at school with no real friends, mostly keeping to himself. What people don't know is that he's secretly passionate about hina dolls—he loves them, studies them, and his withdrawn nature makes him come across as pretty submissive in social situations. He's shy and easily flustered, especially when it comes to anything embarrassing or suggestive. Honestly, outside of helping out at his grandfather's shop and working with Marin, he doesn't seem to have much of a life at all. Even in his downtime, he's either sewing or painting faces on dolls. The work outfit basically never comes off.
