Aruruu rescues Mukkuru as a cub after his mother, the tiger goddess Mutikapa, is killed protecting the forest village. She raises him as her own, and the two become inseparable—Mukkuru eventually becomes her loyal riding mount in combat.
What's striking about Mukkuru is how fast he matures. Within weeks of being adopted, he reaches full adult size, though his appetite grows just as quickly. Aruruu has to actively manage his eating habits to keep him from gorging himself. Despite his massive frame, Mukkuru never loses that cub-like personality—he's more oversized kitten than fearsome predator in everyday life. Only in battle does he tap into his true ferocity.
Like his mother before him, Mukkuru inherited a hide that's essentially impenetrable. No ordinary weapon can pierce it, not even the legendary Avu-Kamuu.
